PHOTO: McLaren 720S with 710 HP a big step forward over its predecessor, but also for the competitors too.

Acceleration to mph is 2.8 seconds, and top speed even 340 km / h

McLaren introduced the 720S, model that inherits the 650S which is lighter and faster. While many criticized McLaren design of previous models that were quite similar, especially the front, for this model no one will be able to say that. Chief Designer Robert Melville points out that with the attraction the great attention is put on aerodynamic characteristics for a better performance.

For the drive cares 4.0-liter bi-turbo V8 engine that has 710 hp. With this number can be one step forward from rivals such as the Ferrari 488 GTB and the Lamborghini Huracan Performanţei. Acceleration to 100 km / h takes just 2.8 seconds, and top speed is 340 km / h. While it was making the car -body was used an aluminum and carbon fiber so the 720S are much lighter than its predecessor.
The most interesting details are the massive doors that are opened upward which are virtually replacing the conventional roof.
Inside is the same thing as out, everything is a brand new and looks much more luxurious than the previous McLaren models. However, a detail that most attracts attention is the “sliding dashboard”.

Specifically, when the driver drives the car on the classic “Normal” mode, in front of him there’s a classical instrument panel of most of the information. By switching to the “Track” mode driving, except the hard suspension, stronger sound and turning off the security system, instrument panel moves and on the front of the driver comes the so-called “Race Mode” instrument panel that consists of only necessary parameters such as speed and move.

Robert Melville says that he made this decision because for the driver while is driving on the race track could be better focused on road performance.
Beside these characteristics may be mentioned the engine compartment lighting that is also there with Purpose- since the engine is set pretty low because of gravity of the car, Melville decided to set lighting to be more easily visible.
In any case, the new McLaren makes a big step forward over its predecessor but also is relative to competitors. Youtuber Shmee150 had a chance to see this model on show in Geneva. The details can be viewed in the video who coming from official youtube channel Shmee150:
